Everything electrical is fine. When they finally ran the refrigerator, they got an “n” code. (Norcold shorthand for not cooling.) Surprise, surprise. The tech called Norcold the next afternoon, and they suggested a thermister loose, which it was, but it still gives an “n” code and only cools the freezer.

How do you reset a Norcold refrigerator?
Press and hold the TEMP SET button on the fridge control panel. When ‘Er’ shows on the screen release the TEMP SET button. When ‘CL’ shows on the screen, wait five seconds and press and hold the TEMP SET button until ‘Er’ is shown on the screen again. Cycle the fridge off/on to see if the “no co” error is erased.
Why is my Norcold refrigerator blinking?
This fault code means that there is an AC Heater fault. The cause of this could be a failed AC heating element, bad AC heater connection, improper AC heater connection, or the rear power board. Disconnect the refrigerator from AC power (unplug from the outlet in the back).
It is usually in the middle of the back panel or at the top of the refrigerator in a panel above the upper shelf. Make small changes in the temperature or you may run the risk of freezing the contents of the fridge.
Why Is My RV fridge not working on electric?
You need to check for tripped circuit breakers in your RV’s electrical compartment. If you find a tripped circuit breaker, reset it and try running the fridge on electric again. If you have no tripped circuit breakers then my first guess is still that the Electrical Refrigerator Heating Element has gone bad.
How do you start a Norcold RV refrigerator?
Turning on your Norcold RV fridge is simple. You’ll find an on/off button on the control panel between the freezer and fresh food compartments. Simply press and release that button to power the fridge.
How do I fix my refrigerator that is not cooling?
Vacuum the coils under or behind the fridge. Clogged coils can cause poor cooling. Check to make sure nothing is stuck in the condenser fan and that it spins freely (models with coils on the back won’t have a fan). To do this, unplug the fridge and pull it out.
How do I reset my norcold recall kit?
Restated, the Norcold temperature sensor is not hot. It is possible to disconnect the temperature sensor plug found between the +12VIN and +12VOUT wires and put a jumper between these wires in order to fool the control. A strong magnet held for greater than 5 seconds should reset the control.
What does an orange light mean on a Norcold refrigerator?
On our norcold, the green light indicates it is running on 120 ac, and the orange means it is running on propane. If you have the switch on “auto”, the unit will change to propane when it no longer detects the 120 volts.
What does a norcold thermistor do?
Norcold thermistors are very important to the operation of your Norcold refrigerator. The word “thermistor” means combination thermostat/ resistor. Simply put, this means that as the temperature increases or decreases, so does the resistance of the component.
Why does RV Fridge say check?
The check light on your fridge could be on for a number of reasons including a bad control board, voltage problems, etc. The only way you will know for sure if it is a serious problem or not is to take it in and have it diagnosed by a Certified RV Technician.
